Instantly, a messenger arrives with an appointment for the student as the Abbot of Bobbio, a position of great virtue and learning. Over the years, the student rises through the ranks, becoming a bishop, archbishop, and eventually Pope Silvester II. Despite his reputation as a theologian, rumors persist that he is also a necromancer...

As the predicted year of the world’s end approaches, Lucifer reappears. He reminds Silvester of their contract and asks for a favor. Silvester must grant it, or Lucifer will take him away...
